Need comment on Launch iCarScan or Launch X431 R
Which one should I get? I need one for resetting oil change alert, but not sure what the extra $150 gets me for the iCarScan one.

OK there are 2 iCarsoft kits specifically for Porsche. Tried and tested and work great.
The iCarsoft i960 kit will allow you to read & reset fault codes for systems like engine, ABS, airbags, transmission etc as shown here
http://www.diagnostic-world.com/page...4&p=108089.cfm
If you want all of the above function (ability to diagnose & reset codes & warning lights in those systems) and the ability to diagnose Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and the function to reset the oil service reminder message warning there is an iCarsoft POR-II as shown here
http://www.diagnostic-world.com/page...8&p=111381.cfm
Obviously it depends on your budget, and what your looking to get out of a tool.
You could go one step above this and get the CR Plus, which basically does all of the above, but for a much wider range of cars like BMW, Audi, Merc etc etc as shown here

Launch & iCarsoft kits carry basically the same software internally, because Launch actually own iCarsoft. Launch products tend to be specifically geared to a wide range of cars, where as iCarsoft's focus is making multi system kits for single brand vehicles.
