This is what it comes down to nowadays. Immigrants have to teach Canadians proper English. I dont mind. So, from your quote above it is obvious that the proper use of improper pronoun "ya" is when using it instead of the word "you" or at least "your". For example "See ya at the track" or "Where is ya Porsche?". The only acceptable shortened version of the exclamation "yeah" is "yea". However, lately "ya" is becoming more popular on the internet as "yeah", but should only be used so when it is clear that it is not meant as a "you". For example "Ya, I don't ********** anymore because I got hair growing between my fingers" and not "fack ya"
