There is a differce between a modified car that's made to perform and one that mainly made to look like a race car. A car that looks fast should have the power to back it up.
My 928 looks stock, has no useless parts that make it look something it isn't.

A 1965 356 race car wouldn't have any more power than what mine will have . So you again make no sense .
If the car has the power that the car had back in its day and even a little more possibly than its legit.
Having said that I intend to rebuild or replace the engine eventually to have a lot more power than it ever would have had even as a race car in 65.

Benton perfomance builds 200hp stock looking motors for 356/912. There is also Walt Mackay in Caledon, not sure if he still takes on projects though.

You ever hear of racing series with spec street engines? They look like race cars but don't have lots of power ,spec Miata for example. How is my 356 not being made to perform?

I'm having a hard time believing that the real race cars of that era had nothing more done to the engines except jetting.
As for bringing in the spec class to justify this project is nonsense as this is not one. Just admit you are having your car converted to look like a race car to get the compliments how "outlaw" your car is. You like vanity, this is clear from all your other posts.

Every riced out Civic owner says they are planning to build up the engine "later" too and seldom does this happen. Why not go the other way, make the car fast first AND then add the peacock feathers? Now if making the car look like a race car is the primary reason, well then.... You can't read clearly so I can't keep repeating what I'm doing to the car cause all you see is jetting . google 1965 356 race car and post what else you think we should do in your expert opinion. If I wanted compliments I would go to cars and coffee and other bs meet ups but I don't . The car gets driven a lot .

Well at least 50 percent more and shorter gearing but that's a project for fall winter. I want to drive the car now .
You can't just slap a supercharger on a 356 like you can on a crappy 928.
This will be a full tear down and rebuild of engine and trans .
You just keep checking back in to congratulate me when it's done .
