See, that's what I always thought.

Porsche Centre Calgary. 83K for a turbo that had an accident. 66k kms.

ferrari maserati of alberta selling a US stolen recovery 458.

So buy a clean car from questionable dealer, or questionable car from reputable dealer? Does that make those cars any more attractive because of the dealership? I don't know

Where are these kijiji listings? GTA?

Do your due diligence and buy with your head and not with your heart. If the car is good from a mom and pop place, then you'll pay less than the big guys for sure. But the big guys are less likely to peddle junk at the risk of their reputation. Buying a used car is nerve racking.

I wouldn't stress about it too much. Get a PPI at a Porsche dealer and if it checks out then have the servicing brought up to date and drive it. A tip isn't likely to have been abused...too much.

Completely agreed. If the car also has a decent amount of recorded history, so there are no mileage gaps, the dealer doesn't really matter.

Don't sweat it. Another one will come a long.

No service records... Maybe I'm just **** with my record keeping, but just that is a bit of a red flag for me. Why wouldn't the owner(s) keep records of service carried out?

Guess there's the possibility that he pitched them but maybe he's trying to keep something from you. I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of people on this forum have pretty complete records (or access to them through their dealer).

Keep in mind, not everyone is an enthusiast, so keeping auto maintenance records is not high on their list. Actually, with leasing and people flipping cars so much, unless you buy the car from an original owner, you'll be hard pressed to get a full compliment of keys. Most people who return a leased car or trade one in will not hand over receipts with personal info on it.

or they leave it in the car, and it gets all thrown out it when the dealer sends it in for cleaning.

or they leave it in the car and the dealer takes it because they don't want to disclose that the engine was changed.
