"His manager Sabine Kehm said in a statement: ”Unfortunately we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true."
Anyone knows if he is aware of his surroundings enough to make his own decisions?

I feel really bad about it... but if there is no progress in recovery at this point, I think it's time to admit that we all need to move on without him. Throw the checker... call his life a win and celebrate his accomplishments. I would hate to see this drag on to become a larger issue...

Unfortunately he might make some incremental further recovery, but significant improvement in his functional status isn't very likely at this point.
As an avid skier/snowboarder, physician, and former volunteer ski patroller the really significant thing I think people should be aware of is that Schumacher's injuries were likely greatly exacerbated by the GoPro mount on his helmet. I don't think that's widely publicized. The rigid steel mount screwed to his helmet caused it to fail on impact with the rock and split completely in two. Ski helmets are just not designed to have a steel mount attached. Every day I ski (which is a lot) I see several people with GoPros on their helmets, often just poseurs but also little kids and teens doing high-risk stuff in the terrain park. The public should be more aware of this, and if you have a mount on your helmet, get rid of it.

Since when are Gopro mounts screwed into helmets?! LMAO...
Good point about there being some effect to the structure of the helmet and functionality, but I highly doubt it was "screwed in" with a screw that would make it split into two pieces. There is only one way to attach the helmet rig and that is with the provided 3M double sided tape on the mount itself.
