Default Carcoon?

Has anyone ever used an outdoor carcoon? I am looking for a winter storage solution and someone suggested these. Im just not convinced it would survive an Atlantic Canadian winter.

It's not as protected from temperature fluctuation which would cause condensation ... For that reason I wouldn't use one, and use indoor storage where possible.

Surely if you can't find storage in Halifax, you could look just outside? Bedford?
Outside Carcoon? Probably designed for Vegas or arizona... which you are not.
One winter power outage. Your bubble will be bust.

You may also want to consider renting a Shipping Container. Secure (lockable) as well as good protection from snow and ice (most are waterproof). Rental companies drops off and picks up. All you do is cover the car with proper car cover and run a long cable for your trickle charger. Trust me, this works at $150 to $200 per month.

I think it would magnify temperature fluctuations and harm the car even more

I'd have to live in the SeaCan if I put that in my driveway

How so during the winter months if it cuts the wind chill and keeps the snow/ice out?
I used one for 4 months during winter while waiting for my home to be completed. That was 10 years ago and car/paint are still alive.

Container seems like an awesome idea. It would be better than my un-insulated garage probably!

2o footer, you can get your car in.
4o footer, you could have a man cave in the other end. Fireplace, big screen, couch.
Send photo's once its done. You could call it "THE DOGHOUSE".

Not sure if there are any apartment buildings nearby but check for rental underground parking. There's almost unlimited availability in central Toronto for around $100 a month so it should be even cheaper there. Solar charging seems to be good alternative to a trickle charger if there are no plugs but you need a lit spot. $10 on sale at CT. I don't think cold matters but you want to keep your baby dry for sure.

Might just jump ahead and build my new garage earlier than planned. Alternatvely, incan get it into my existing heated garage, but have to displace some other toys to do it. I had just spoken to a guy recently that uses these carcoons for his cars and motorcycles in Europe and said thet work brilliantly...there.

One problem with unheated storage is the cold makes all the rubber on your car brittle as hell.
That's another reason I keep both garages heated , not just for condensation

Mine is not heated but insulated very good and never gets below freezing, being its attached to my house. I agree, important for the tires.
