Hi Jakob,
Are you still going to the event? Or you are just not joining the crew drive to Porsche of Oakville?

It's a strange situation, because of the unique oil system of 1972, combined with rain hats rather than the stock airbox. If you're curious: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...rstanding.html

I've got some time today to work on it. I'll still have the original oil leak, but at least that's manageable. As it was the other day, I probably couldn't have driven more than 100km without completely emptying the oil tank!

Was going to hack on you but then I might not make the 7:20AM meet point for the convoy myself. So I won't. Unless I do. Then I will.

Sounds like you modified the vent line location without knowing how the oil system works... I've been there before!

On race cars with ITB's the system is very similar. You have to run a catch can like you tried for the vent line, but it has to be vented. Otherwise you are pressurizing a sealed container which will inadvertently pressurize the crank case, and force oil to leak. If that makes any sense... The lines need to come in the top of the tank. You could vent the tank to atmosphere, or you could run it into an airbox with vacuum, which you don't have...

Just an update:

1. Weather is looking really sweet! Fingers crossed that any rain or chances-of hold off until later in the afternoon! There are a few special cars arriving that will totally melt in the rain; so.....fingers crossed that the weather cooperates and they will come!!!

2. Please park within your Porsche model/type. If you see a group of 964s and you're in a 964, go park with your buddies! I realize this will be hard, but if everyone has this on their mind, maybe we can just wing it and be (for the most part), organized by Porsche type.

3. Once we run out of room (this is highly possible!!) on the dealership grounds, please park on the side of the road on South Service and on Wastegate Rd.

4. If you're arriving not in a Porsche, please park away leaving room for Porsches. (THANK YOU!!!)

5. HAVE FUN! :P
