Why no Porsches at the Montreal GP?

A few days ago I downloaded the weekend schedule for the Montreal Grand Prix and it showed the Porsche Cups running their race events. Then yesterday when we arrived, they were nowhere to be found. A buddy of mine downloaded the F1 app and that schedule didn't show them anymore. What the hell happened this year? It's a real pisser when you pay expect them to see only to find out that they were removed from the schedule. Anyone know what happened? Was it the money again (it was last year)?

I was thinking the same thing!! Did you see Hamilton crash out his car? I was at stand 24 and saw all of that expensive crunch!

Montreal seems to be more of a Ferrari Fan based race than Porsche....each F1 races are different and mostly dependent on the promoters interest. In Monaco a couple of weeks ago they had Porsches no Ferrari's, Singapore has Ferrari's and no Porsche's, Malaysia has Porsche's and no Ferrari's....etc.

I searched back to the original 2015 Cup schedule released in February and it did not show Montreal for this weekend.

We saw the Hamilton ****up! :) we were fully ready for rain so we stayed right to the end. It was a good downpour. Hamilton also lost almost all his British accent.

It did earlier this week. I emailed it to myself so have proof. :)

Bernie makes it very difficult for support races. He was never happy with the GT3 Canada series.
If the entry numbers are too low, you're out.
Also, if you regularly crash into barriers (e.g. over the past two years and delay the next session), you're out.
The US GT3 cup series was to race, but I'm guessing it fell apart as it's a serious PITA to bring cars and crew up to Canada (i.e. border crossing...).

Because Pirelli?

F1 = Pirelli
Ferrari = Pirelli
Nissan cup = Pirelli

Porsche cup = Michelin

Wasn't it to do with the entry fee to race at said Canadian GP being insanely expensive? Nissan is covering most of the MicraCup cost, Ferrari is well Ferrari and F1600 has been there forever. I didn't stick around for the support races, the weather was nice this weekend and I decided to do other things.

GT3 Cup Canada is racing next week at Honda Indy Toronto :rockon:

naah...there are Porsche Cups in other F1 races so don't think it's a Pirelli thing...I think it's more of a money thing and who can pay more and cost of travels ...the bigger the club in those cities holding the race, the more likely they are part of the F1 Community on those weekends.

Here's a couple of quick photos from Monaco with the Porsche Cup..

Aside from the engines on these GT3's....the cars looks much better in Malaysia as they had some pretty wicked designs.
