Default Casually on the hunt for a 996TT..

My dad is looking to re-enter Porsche ownership, and is looking for a 996TT:
-must be 2002+ 6spd.
-wants white, silver, grey, or other 'subtle' colours
-prefer coupe but consider cabrio.
-located/registered in Ontario
-stock is better, performance mods are fine, no aftermarket bodykits or mega stereo's.
Not in a rush, no garage queens-no beaters, looking for a nice driver at a fair price.

If you have something, or know of a car that's not in the common search places, please send me a PM or throw idea's up here.

TIA guys!

-Rob

would also consider 996 GT3's and GT2's, open to all 'options' with these, except real garage queens...

Darn. I'm casually looking too. I don't need any competition driving up prices!

lol, just to clarify on the 'casually', ready to buy if the right car comes up, but not in desperation to buy...
K.F., what car are you looking for?

Interested in a driver quality TT for everyday use. My Audi is 15 years old, and I need more horsepower!

Is your GT2 responsible for his return?

Have you looked at the few examples that are in the Autotrader local to you? The Garage queen types ones are in the $50k but the other few are low $40k.

I'm very casually looking ie I am not ready to buy one I already have one too many Toys but the 996 TT or 996 GT2 is getting my attention.

I will do my part to help.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Hey Carm,
Have browsed them but have not looked in-person, nothing has really 'connected' yet with anything listed.
Might go have a look at some over the holidays just to ensure we're not missing any 'diamonds in the rough'.
Appreciate any leads.
Best,
Rob

saw the Orbit one, seemed nice. Problem is, IMO, I got a great deal on my GT2 so that price resonates for future cars...
Thanks for the ex-potential lead though! would be nice to buy a Canadian or Ontario-registered car to avoid all the messing around though.

Hi Rob, glad to help

So if I was ready to buy one I would be seriously looking at this one:
http://wwwb.autotrader.ca/a/Porsche/...&orup=10_15_20

Its close to you too!

If you take a peek at it let me know what you think

Ciao

Actually emailed about that one before they had pictures up, something seems 'off' about the car, but will probably have a look at it(amongst other TT's in the area) over the holidays.
To my eyes from the pictures, it's possibly had a front-end fender bender or repaint on the bumper cap, wheels seem to be narrow-body versions too....will need to see in real-life. Also the rear spoiler is up, hydraulics ok or using a mechanical-set kit?
Cheers,
Rob

Prices have gone up since I bought mine. I am also sort of interested in picking up another one for the wife and to replace my C4S has to be arctic silver/black tiptronic. Though at the prices people are asking now, it may be worth waiting for the right 997.1tt to come up.
