My S2 is gone. It ain't easy.

My S2 is gone. It ain't easy.
Just surfin' through all the recent posts because every spring for the last 15 years, and right about now, I'd be rolling some version of a 944 out of the garage for it's first glimpse at direct sunlight in over 5 months. So I thought I'd write this little commentary as a brief form of venting due to this overwhelming anxiety I am now feeling after selling my S2 last fall to fund my small business venture. I believe that this form of withdrawal must be quite similar to quitting smoking, giving up sex or having to retire from being the lead singer in a famous rock band. I really didn't think that I'd have a problem selling my mint '90 Porsche 944S2 Eurospec sunroof delete with 80,000 clicks on it. I didn't have a problem with it for a couple of months. Then the night sweats started. Suspiciously laying my hand on the shifter when going into a ramp while driving the station wagon. This all started shortly after noticing the gradual increase in the amount of notifications I was receiving from Rennlist regarding summer tire installs, oil changes and spring starting procedures. My Saturn is starting to run rough and my wife says I'm getting abnormally grumpy. So, be forewarned. Do not consider selling your Porsche under any circumstances as this event may cause serious emotional and/or physical maladies that cannot be cured without the purchase of another Porsche.

This is of course completely understandable and aside from asking which famous band that you fronted. I wonder about waking in the night laying your hand on the shifter. All the same I share in your gruminst.

I wonder too Jim, that's why I think there is something more to owning a Porsche than just high performance. Thanks for asking porsche0nut, the business is slowly catching on ...havin a slight issue with folks thinking I clean cars, but it's all good ...it's a blast being different!

Porsche might have no substitute on the road, but I bet you can substitute it with extra sex. Though its probably to the detriment of your finances. Definitely MUST NOT quit.
Oooh, I know! Quit smoking AND increase sex! One pays for the other.
Now, for the band. Hmmm...... I got nothing
On a serious note, I've suffered like this before when the spring came after I sold an all original '90 C4 Cab (Canadian car too). The pain faded after a few years. But the love for the brand only grew stronger.
Hang in there, Pal. I see a Porsche in your future.

+ 1 Sim definitely a pcar in your future and as mentioned while you were tending to my 993 last week you will likely get the benefit of reviewing every cosmetic detail of the car as you restore the finish before making the offer Cheers, Mark

I was like you (although I did not own a P car for as long) Sold my 951 a couple of years ago and was good with it..then the Kijijji search started more out of curiosity, the search got more in depth. Found my car in Kingston and the owner agreed to meet me and let me see the car..great day for a ride so out I went down the 416/401 and met the owner who was also a rider/racer. A quick drive and I was sold.
You will be back and for me the hunt is almost as fun as driving them

Yup, I have to stay off of that freakin' Kijiji. That site is just not good for me right now. There oughta be a support group ...As soon as I get the urge to click on Kijiji I should be able to pull a card out of my wallet and call the number on the back.
