Article on which Porsches to buy
Someone sent me this at work and thought I'd share - interesting and some of it obvious... http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/n...c-70ba05eb0076

Not bad, though I think he is low on valuations. Really good early 911s have risen a lot in price. Secondly, condition is critical, and origin. Cars from salty areas are likely to have a lot of rust. Megabucks to fix.

The comment about the 928 not being a 911 is hilarious. Of course it's not a 911 and it never was. It's a GT car.
Why do automotive writers compare models that are obviously in different classes and use that comparison to make negative comments?
It's just shows their lack of knowledge and ability to investigate before they write.
Hey I like it in the front and in the rear! It's all good.

What a terrible article. Very uninformed. I like the: new porsches are for wall street that substitutes money for taste, and for 40k you can buy any air cooled model.

I don't agree with one of the items/cars. The 2.4L engine started with '72 Model year and the '72 or '73S is probably the best of the lot. In the 1974 they went to the 2.7 litre engine not '73 as indicated in the article.
To me (I'm on my 12th and 13th Porsches) the prime, older one would be a '72 S. The '72's are a little lighter than the '73's (no side guard beams in the doors in '72) Also a little better balanced with two batteries (one in each front fender) and of course the oil tank towards the middle of the car (hence the oil door on passenger side just aft of the door).
