Default Service for my "Porsche Support Vehicle"

Hi All, I've had the 2003 Toyota, 4-Runner, V8 for ten years now.

Time for a full fluid service, but crap the Stealer-Ship wants a fortune.

I need all fluids, (brake, trans, transfer case, rear and front diff, coolant, oil) & filter plus all filters likely, dust, pollen & air.

Any suggestions - i'm down town in the Bloor-Yorkville area.

I recently used twins (danforth road and stclaire) for some service on my audi a6 and they were very organized, hourly is about $80. very nice guys, clean shop and they service all makes, and nice waiting room. google their number if you want to try them.

hey Phil.
Just did a complete transfusion of all fluids on my V6 98 4Runner.
Done it every 3 years since I bought it and I'm at 467,000km.
It was under $300 at Don Valley North Toyota.

Maybe some of the quick lube chains but watch to make sure they actually do the work they quote you.

Upgraded to a 2012, really miss the V8...Guy named Mike in the Pharmacy Eglinton area is popular choice among the 4Runner/FJ crowds. Had no problem we me watching a 4wheel alignment on our Runner, charged $80.

I'll dig up his particulars when I get home.

I miss my old 4 runner. Probably the only vehicle I've owned and can say that about.

...Ok, found it. Mike @ The Mechanic Zone, 33 Comstock, 2nd door down (416) 615-1357
No a fancy shop by any stretch, but the 4Runner knowledge is there.

I've owned 3 generations of 4Runners with a grand total of $450.00 in unscheduled maintenance!!

10 years I've had the 4Runner and it's as good as the day I drove it off the lot. Only 109,000 Kms. Four cars and working from home, plus i don't get out much...

Toyota on Front is willing to do the work for $750.00 (down from $882.00) but I find that to be a ridiculous amount.

Thanks for the input - I'll give it a day or two and see if there's a +1.

How do you make these attached pictures smaller?

Cheers,

Default Settled on Mike - will let you know.

OK then, spoke to Mike and I'll give him a shot on Tuesday. It's certainly not going to be anywhere around $300.00 though. The fluids alone are going to top that amount. It's likely going to run around $700.00 for all fluids and filters. Remember i have to do both front and rear diffs, transmission, brake fluid, transfer case, fuel injector flush, throttle body service, oil change and all the dust and pollen filters.

I would have given it to Toyota on Front, but the guy called me back after first quoting $882.00, (I asked if he could do better). He said the best he could do is $750.00 like he was doing me a favour. Then I get a Toyota winter service flyer in the mail the next day offering 15% off all parts and service, ($750.00). I hate dealing with people who can't play straight!

Thanks all & 9964runner for the referral. Love my V8 4Runner

Is this your regular dealer?
I've been using Don Valley for over 20 years.
I even get a seniors discount and I'm only 50.
I don't know your timeline but every year they run the high mileage discount from Jan 1 to Mar 31.
10$% off for 100k, 15% for 150k $ 20% for 200k
I asked for 40% at 400k but no go.
