I saw it too, but doesn't that one have some notable issues or something and thus that's around the going rate or maybe a bit less?
If you guys disagree I might email him.

This looks like a frakenporsche... parts taken from all over the place.
'74 had a 2.7L engine, not 2.2. I know he says in the ad that the engine isn't original, but why you'd want a smaller engine than it's supposed to have is just strange.
The body looks like an SC to me. The fuchs are painted (instead of polished petals), the window trim isn't chrome, the headlights are the style of later years (and not chrome), and I think the antenna should be on the passenger side not the drivers side for the 74-76. Door handles are also not chrome, and from the limited amount I can see the interior, it looks like SC/Carrera interior.
That said.... if you could grab it for 8 you wouldn't be in a bad spot as long as they're all proper parts (and genuine fuchs). Sell the engine etc... strip it down, and build a badass track car/RS tribute!

Damn ! Timing sucks. That car (engine) is a perfect donor for the 904 project.

its a frankenporsche all right
Guys,
I had been in touch with the seller(s) over the past week or so, as it had peaked my interest also.
Stopped in for a viewing last week evening, so it was dark and not well lit up. Car looked reasonable from far, but...
Driver door had a flag mirror, same as the passenger side, but had rivet marks ahead of the mirror, looking like the door was either a donor, or the flag mirror job was done poorly.
"No rust" means rust, in many places.
"Black" means, a respray (poorly done) over an awful yellow looking colour.
Frunk was n good shape, there were a few of the original tools, and the collapsable spare was in good shape.
The whaletail comes with the oil cooler (not plumbed), weighs a tonne, and seems to cause the rear deck to close poorly. The extra weight is obviously over-straining the single shock.
The engine has a 2.2L badge across the top of the fan area, and also has a green shroud. Mixed signals here, until I decoded the engine number with a 610**** putting it at a 1970 2.2L 911T 150 hp engine. Wheels and rubber were good though, but the tires seemed low.
So I asked him to start it up...
"blah blah battery drain ....blah boost............ blah jumper cables.......... blah wife's care so no cables..... blah."
Asks me if I have a set. I drove the 964, so ...nope.
Shake my head about my wasted time and suggest that he may have a hard time selling the car without being able to run the engine.
He says "So, are you just thinking out loud, or...what...". I sigh, laugh, and wish him luck with the sale.
Asking $9500 on kijiji, now asking $10k buy it now or best offer on Ebay. I'd say it might be worth $5?
At least the drive in the 964 was worth it. Oh, and the $1.20 gas in Kingston.
