Any opinions on this device?

Who carries them in the Burlington area?

Borrowed one from a friend last year - worked great - i am pretty sure you can only buy from US as he did.

Also know a few guys who made their own with a garden pesticide sprayer and a few parts for about $40.00 total, pretty sure a google search will bring up a few how to's

they are great. I forget who but they are avail locally.

Didn't the Liberals ban garden peticide sprayers? You can pick it up in Buffalo when you go for your Killex and Diazinon supplies I guess....

I bought my sprayer at Home Depot in Aurora. They sell the empty sprayers if that's what you looking for. They can be filled filled with Canadian pesticide concentrates. There are two types of measures for the dial settings. I was able to find one compatible with US pesticides. They use a numbering system that doesn't seem to directly relate to a volume. The pesticide concentrate bottle just says pour it into the sprayer and set it to number 2.

Thanks for the info. I've never done a brake fluid change so I thought this would be the way to go. When south I bought the blue fluid from Suncoast to hopefully make the process easier.

I also have one to lend, and can't recommend them highly enough. 1 hour including jacking and removing/replacing wheels and tool cleanup.

i borrowed jims and used it just for pressure and didnt even have to put fluid in it.

as an aside ... the numbering system is usually oz/ gallon distributed when connected to a hose.

in canada it is ml/L

i bought my hand sprayer/ pump bottle at princess auto for 10 bucks. i just need to pick up a spare brake reservoir lid to complete the project.

Once you see the product it, it's easy to build one but use good components that's ok with brake fluid, I had a buddy make his own. It was ok the first year but during the second year he had a component failure that sprayed some brake fluid on his paint. With saying this you should be checking the connections on the Motive unit as well.

thats why i think its safer to use it just for pressure.

Good point Clive, I over fill the reservoir and do the same but only when I'm servicing a single caliper. If I'm doing a complete bleed I fill it to make sure I don't run the fluid reservoir too low or dry, I've done this on my BMW but for piece of mind had to redo the entire bleed. On the 944 the fluid line to the clutch is pretty high up on the reservoir so that is limiting on how much you can bleed before topping up again.

My Motive bleeder if getting pretty old now (8~9 years) so I'm looking to either get a new one (from the US) or order a different type that I saw for $29 on a BMW parts site,now to locate that site again.... .

Thanks Paul, a bit more than what the Motive product sells for but it appears to have some added feature that the Motive unit doesn't. How is the over all quality, a but more than I want to pay but I may still consider one.
