Default Porsche 997: Family Edition

It's been a busy few weeks @ home with my new baby girl (born June 2). My wife finally succumbed to the pressure and we took the girls on a short road trip in the 997 this morning to the park and then a quick lunch. Anyone who tells you that a 911 isn't a practical family car is misinformed

P.S. for anyone wondering, the install is extremely secure on both the rear facing infant seat, and my 2.5 yr daughter's forward facing seat. There is zero 'play' front to back or side to side. Safety first.

Well done. I carry my two kids in the 928 and the 996 all the time. Works really well.

Mine took my family away for the weekend once - and takes my kids to arenas, baseball, soccer, etc... almost everyday of the year.

Last week we had a baseball tournament in Woodstock. We battled traffic for 2.5hrs to get from Toronto to Hamilton and had less than 25 minutes to get from Hamilton to Woodstock. My boy made the lineup. Just sayin'

I won't lie - it's tight for her... I'm 5'10" and was able to sit in the passenger's seat with my feet crossed - my knees had a little wiggle room. She's ok with it because she knows it brings me joy, best wife ever

Wait, it's only going to get better as your children grow up. I was near Caledon earlier today with wife and kids (12 and 9). After running the Forks of the Credit, the kids said "again!"

+1 for getting better. My kids love all the roundabouts that are popping up around here.

I take my 5 year old and 2 year old out all the time. Once your baby girl goes front facing it will be sooo much easier!

Congrats on the new child. If only I knew it were possible to put in an infant seat in the back I would have saved myself from buying a winter beater. Good job!

Thanks all. I had wanted to bring the little one home from the hospital, her first car ride, in the 911. How cool would that be! But knowing how uncomfortable the ride would have been for my wife a day after giving birth was too far of a stretch for me to even bring it up

My 2.5 yr old loves going out for errands... "Go faster daddy", and "Put the windows down!" are the two most common phrases I hear from the back seat. I can only imagine how much more fun it will get as they both get a little older!
