10:00 AM, Second Cup, 15440 Bayview Ave., Aurora - last Sunday of every month.
Was my first visit, but its not too far from my neck of the woods, and traffics pretty light Sunday mornings. :)
C'mon out next month!

The brainchild of James K. (997 Turbo) previous PCA UCR open house chair who sadly passed away this past April.
He wanted a gathering for those a little north of Toronto to meet but not too far as to exclude anyone.
I'm sure there are many Porsche owners north of the city.
Let's help to keep his wish going.

This was my first meet and I was amazed at the size of the turnout. Met a lot of terriffic people today and I look forward to coming to more! A great variety of cars too!

I should have taken some pictures (even though I'm not much of photographer), but alas, I spent so much time talking cars with people I did not get to it... next time!!

Group 905 is the brainchild of the late James King. At the first meet I attended in April this year, I met the regulars (Will, Barry, Helmut and Dave). We decided to "get the word out" about the 905 GTG. Well, James would be pleased I think, at the turnouts for the last few GTG's. :)

...and then, a little before Noon that day, we heard the unmistakable clatter of the VW air-cooled little mills of our youth (well, some of our youth anyway). Three Porsche "cousins" had arrived. Tell you what, if you thought the Porsches were popular, you should have seen the smiles and crowds accompanying our "cousins". :)

I won't be there unfortunately...will be attending Saturn's 3rd Annual Muskoka Super Loop drive.

Yes, gorgeous out right now! A little cool, but very nice. The sunshine melted the little bit of snow we got last night...much too early for that.

With the RL Fall Run scheduled (if the weather improves) for Sun., Oct. 27, the 905 Group may be light. The Fall Run (unlike the 905 Group GTG) is weather dependent. Right now, the forecast for next Sunday looks better than it did - cloudy with a little rain.

Have out of town guests this Sunday so can't do the RL run. But will show up for 905 meeting. So if you can't make the RL fall tour, come on up to Aurora

Haven't lost my morning block of time on Sunday, so I can attend the Group 905 meet...see ya there!

The snow squalls in my area ended sometime overnight...we got a few inches of snow, but nothing close to the 15-30cm they called for.
Made it down to Second Cup at 10:10 this morning...no other Group 905'ers there though. The roads were a little sloppy and wet but no problems.
Enjoyed my coffee and read the Star, that left-wing, communist rag-of-a-paper.
Left at 11 as I had more errands to run...but hey, kept the Group alive for November! :)
Only fitting really, since I'd missed the Sept. and Oct. GTG's.
Is the next meet date Dec. 22nd, or Jan next year?

I'll be there too, weather permitting (they're forecasting the possibility of freezing rain / rain-snow mix on Sunday).

North of Barrie, we've already had lots of snow and some freezing rain overnight. In light of the weather forecast for this evening and tomorrow morning (freezing rain / ice storm), perhaps the meet should be cancelled.

Considering the ride through Aurora yesterday evening, I suggest all driving north of Major Mac unless absolutely necessary should be avoided for the next 24 hrs.

905 Group
 

Just was out getting gas in Newmarket, it's -1C, and light rain. Roads just wet, but overnight it's likely there may either be some slippery areas or the roads will be loaded with salt. As I'm only a mile or so from the meet location I'll likely go unless the area is a skating rink. But I'll take the Sequoia rather than bathe the Pcar with salt. Certainly understandable for those with a distance to go to take a pass on this one. For the brave, there will likely be at least 2 there from this area. All the best for the New Year, Merry Christmas safe driving, see you January.

Well-just David & I. David showed up for hot coffee as he had no power @ home. Driving's ok, just sloppy.Trees all ice laden- when temp drops later and tomorrow, may likely lose branches, hopefully not trees on our property. Several seen down in Aurora. A little breeze comes up and many more homes will lose power. Will start up generator to make sure it will function if needed.

Still no power.
Gonna have to move fridge contents to the garage soon.

Well, guess we made through the ice storm and now the deep freeze.

This weather's really beginning to get to me now. I don't want to drive my car through any salt baths, so it's sitting in the garage. It's killing me.... I've had the car for 2 weeks and have driven it just a handful of times.

Six bodies and two 911's attended the meet (last Sunday)....that's great! Weather was clear, bright and quite cold though. Sorry for arriving an hour late though. The next meet (Sunday, April 27) should exhibit much nicer weather for us!

Anyone in the GTA interested in meeting up and making a convoy out of the trek to Aurora tomorrow? I suggest we meet at Bayview Village (northeast corner of Bayview & Sheppard). Meet at the southwest parking lot where the condo building is at 9:30, then hit the road at 9:45.

What time do you usually stay there till? I might be able to make it by 11am or a little earlier.

Eshel btw. I looked up the Shelby GT500. 662 hp 5.8L supercharged V8 631 torque. I am amazed I was even able to keep pace up until 4th without it not over taking me. Thats some extreme hp.

BTW, talked to Mario at HPCARS and those that want Motul Oil for their cars can give him a shout and he can get it for them. Just tell him what type as well as how much. Same with wiper blades which are cheaper than the dealer. Call him or Vic at (416) 752-7280. He is located at 1890 Lawrence Ave. E., the old Heimraths shop. He can also get Porsche parts as well. Oct. 26 was kind of a cold day (that biting wind sure made it worse).
Will brought BOTH of his 997's (the new one is a tad smaller than normal and has a GoPro on the roof - you can just see it there under his LF wheel). We welcomed Frank to the meet - and his unique Ocean Jade Metallic Boxster! Another cool colour I've not seen in person before. Thanks for coming out...next meet on November 23!

Haven't had the 911 out since Remembrance Day...we've been covered in snow since then...multiple snow squalls. :( Going to roof-rake some of the snow today, before the melt occurs this weekend. Christmas lights going up too. :)

Gonna head out for a drive anyway - this weather's been great.

I woke-up late and then I saw the post about being there until noon so I jumped in my car and drove over there, got there at about 11:26am and not a Porsche in sight I was like "wtf?" so then I came home and saw the post about leaving at 11:20am.

Sorry. About 11:15, some had to leave early, so we went outside to take some photos. Got quite cold out and everyone left early.

Barry, Helmuth, Will, Jay, Eshel and I braved the cold wintery weather to attend this morning...thanks guys! Fortunately, the Barrie area only received less than an inch of snow overnight. Helmuth surprised us by attending with his gorgeous '76 Triumph Spitfire...very nice! Barry's Boxster was the only Porsche in attendance this morning. Here's a phone pic. Next months GTG should prove to be much warmer. :)

im glad there was a nice turnout. i had a case of terrible stomach flu/food poisoning in the middle of the night right till approx noon today. just getting out of bed now while loading up (carefully) on fluids.

Ya drive would be nice. All though I am pretty busy with track weekends this month. I have not checked out any of the roads north of that meet spot but I am familiar with east. Port Perry would make a great road trip. I know of a few great spots for photos as well as it has some great eating spots as well. Also a nice drive up north on 57 to caesarea back to 7A

I noticed you had been pulled over. I was behind Will, who was behind you. Sucks. Hope that doesn't discourage you from returning. He probably meant to pull Will over, -he knew the offender was SPEED YELLOW. You proved your's was faster!! There is some comfort in that

He did ask me if the other yellow P-Car was my friend. Lol
The officer pulled me over to check my registration and plates were up to date but he really wanted to ask me questions about the car as he was a car fanatic himself!
He asked year/mileage/HP, etc. We ended up speaking for about 10 or 20 mins. It does help that in my profession I deal with law Enforcement on a daily basis.

Barry had moved his Boxster away from our group so that Will could take some shots of the car all by itself. If you've been to the meet before, you know just how vast and empty the parking can be. Well, it took all of two minutes, but someone drove up and parked right beside the Boxster! Amazing! At least it wasn't some clapped out pickup made in the 70's, and he parked properly.

I'm going for a drive this Saturday. Leaving greenlane and woodbine in Newmarket at the old machine racing parking lot at 930am
Roads will be as twisty as possible , pace will be fun without losing your licence.

Great Porsche turnout at EA this morning! I was with the R8 group that showed up a little later. That garage facility never disappoints.....loved the 50's Caddy Coupe Deville with the LT1 V engine 😊��

Well, its looking like winter up here! We've been pounded with snow squalls the last few days (and no end in sight yet).

Wow...stellar turnout this morning (Sun., May 22, 2016)! Think I counted 23 Porsches at one point! Thanks to Mike Bryan and Randy Gananathan for all the extra 'press'! :) I enjoyed a terrific drive down (from north of Barrie) early Sunday morning and traffic was even lighter than normal. Thanks for attending...it was very nice to meet so many new faces. :)

Now that the warmer weather has arrived, the Group 905 meets will occur twice monthly (on the 2nd AND 4th Sunday, every month) from now until sometime in the Fall. The next meet is Sunday, June 12th!

Nice, new, red Cayman GT4. Eshel's killer GT2. Gorgeous 986 Boxster in GT Silver with a stunning chocolate brown interior. And one I've not seen there before...a 997.1 launch, I believe, with that beautiful Porsche Racing Green Metallic colour and tan interior!

It was nice to head out for a drive last Sunday morning...even if it was raining at home. Our move from just north of Barrie to the southern shores of Georgian Bay complete, it was nice to hit the road (instead of tackling boxes). :)

Helmuth brought his '70 Spitfire and a few new faces attended...welcome all!

I found the differences in size striking between the Spitfire, 911 and Panamera!

Hey Sonny, Glad you guys got moved in ok. I've been away every sunday since the first meet I went to but I'll try to make the next one. I took the 996 up to the Sault last week and it was a great drive.. for the first 4 hours then those seats got exponentially more uncomfortable as every hour passed. Totally worth it.
