I posted some saltwater fish for sale on Kijiji. Based on the replies I got so far, it scares me to think what garbage I'll have to wade through when I list the targa.
I think I can expect the following:
From: joe@joe.com
Hi, is your house included?
From jack@jack.com
It's Sally from Cars! Can you drive it to my house so you can drive me in it? My kids want me to get my license someday. Maybe we could get some groceries on the way. Pls reply asap. Tx
From jacques@jacques.com
Are you ever come at France, Belgium or Luxembourg??? If so, I'll take your black sport car...
From adam@adam
Are you selling any engines?
From porschedude@porsche.du
hi im interested please send all your banking info so I can make payment

Kijiji makes me concerned for humanity. It indicates just how many fully grown "adults" are dumb as a post and borderline illiterate. I post free stuff on there occasionally. The first line always reads "if you're reading this, it's still available, please do not email. (I NEVER list a phone # for free stufff) I'll remove the ad as soon the item is gone". Inevitably, I still receive at least one or two emails asking if it's still available. Or if I'll deliver it.
However, with cars, I've had better luck, especially when I sold the 86 911. I had few, if any, flakes, dreamers and tire kickers. The only time I've dealt with losers when selling cars is when we get rid of repos.

I just did this recently, I've dealt with way too many idiots on Kijiji... There are some good folks out there too but at least 50% of them waste my time. My wife also read some news about some Kijiji deal that went bad not too far from here, and that's enough to make her paranoid.. So now I stick to a fake name, email communication only and try to meet somewhere convenient rather than give out my address. Too many weirdos out there.

I was just thinking of this thread while browsing the kijiji ads.
This one is a classic:

No pics, AWD (um, what?), spelling in description (not to mention lack of detail...)

Im still selling my stock 996TT twists.
Should I tell them about my Kijiji troll of you for the yellow brakes that you lust after? Now that was an exchange!
