just added 3 playbooks to the household. Does everything required, with future software updates should be able to do a lot more too. very impressed with the hardware, software a little lacking

There lies the problem with the playbook, it will get dropped at some point soon and there won't be future updates. The price drop is the only proof needed. Use it while you can and chuck em when the support stops, then get the iPad3.

You might want to check out an article in MacLife this past issue it has a (slightly bias) review of all the tablets on the market. For me the iPad2 is the way to go.

Samsung Galaxy 10.1. Got it free as part of the Rogers promotion. Works like a giant verion of the Galaxy SII. Neat and all but, I still prefer a notebook with a keybaord and a flip up screen.

i dont have one but I am leaning towards the 10 inch Samsung . i have used the 7 inch one and its great value for the money . i am wavering coz it has no 3G option though . I am sad to say being from K/W area the playbook is a total non starter .. That company may be doomed.
Same here however, just bought 3 when the sale came on. Was on the fence about getting a tablet, but price made me do it.
I'm no techie, but it's been pretty solid so far. Also not sure about what this means, but "upcoming Android for the Playbook"???

I have an original iPad, and got my daughter an iPad2 for Christmas.
She created a promotional flyer for her Mom's business using Pages last night and it looks great!
What I like is the synchronization of my stuff on the iPhone, iPad and both computers using iCloud.
We also use shared family calendars, very handy.
I can also find my devices (GPS) and remotely wipe them if they get lost or stolen.
Both kids have iPhones, so I kinda have GPS tracking devices installed on them ;-)
I like the Apple solutions because they all work so seamlessly together.

Ipad 1 here. Love it. Tried the playbook and found the software frustrating and not particularily intuitive. For the price though it makes sense.
Can iOS5 be jailbroken yet?

Yes Francois its me .. I would definitely consider this an investment purpose Mark. It is worth it now at the pricepoint. Will be an awesome purchase as Francois mentions with the new update expected in February. The ipad is definitely the product for today but the pricepoint was too steep . As you point out Mark the attraction of outfitting the family was just too great.
maybe start a new pole coz i voted before christmas and i cant change it.
