I already am, but not by choice. Heart failure caused it. The truth is I'm hoping to one day get BACK to work!!

I really shouldn't complain, I work an average of 12 days a month...I can work more, but that's when I get greedy or my clients can't take "no" for an answer. So really I've been semi-retired since I was 30 and I'm happy to keep this schedule until I become worm food.

Next year I am retiring from my full time job of 37 1/2 years ... will be 38 when I do. I'll get a pension from work (I'll be 57 YO) but will be looking at doing somethin part time for toy money.

Pension will be good and I will survive comfortably and be able to closely maintain present lifestyle. Just take longer to save up for 'toys", hence the part time work to pay for it. I need to give 6 month notice and that will be submitted on or about Oct 3rd ... first day back from a two week vacation. Tired of the Corporate Rat Race with the "Pin the blame on the Donkey" game everyone plays.

Nope, I'm just a poor tech that is debt-free.

I like the finer things in life a bit too much. I still got a bunch of time to go....

I figure 50 to "slow" down.... Mortgage paid, kids out of the house, sell the house in Toronto, move to the burbs, find a mindless job to support a hobby (keep my 20 year old 996 on the road), shake my fist at kids running on my lawn, switch from belts to suspenders, live the dream.

Thanks.

I have plans and boredom will not be an issue. The shop is going to get improved with a media blasting booth and a paint booth, each in their own room. I'm looking forward to restoring a motorcycle I bought some time ago. I'll also have more time to make Beru ignition wire sets and complete the jig to mod dual distributor bearings.

It'll be so nice to just do what I want to do and when I want to do it.
