And that would be $100k USD, but that would also be for very low mileage garage queens.

997 GT3 is more "refined" - that's the word I was looking for.

the gt4 is much more refined than a 997 GT3. Gt3 is purer, rawer and miles more engaging.

Default Oil pressure sender for 996

I have a BNIB oil pressure sender unit, which fits all 996 cars. These things fail in 996 cars often, resulting in a 'no oil pressure' dash warning when in fact it's just the pressure sensor is bad. I never got around to replacing mine before I traded my 996 last summer.

Part # 996-606-203-03

Sold!

Pair of 225/35/19 PS2's with ~70% tread left. Easily good for a season or a few track days. $100 for the pair, meet up in the GTA. No shipping. Pics of each tire's tread below

Also have a pair of 315/25/19 PS2's that are near the wear bars but easily have a track day or two left in them. Free to a local RL'er if anyone can make this weirdo tire size work for them.

Sold, thanks RL

The 997.1 has the aids but they can sometimes be intrusive. The 997.2 is better as they have pushed back the threshold a bit, so there is less chance of an unwanted intervention.

Yes, by all means go for the 997 GT3, but do it for the right reasons: It's a better rounded car; it's less raw and possibly more pleasant to live with on a day to day basis, but don't do it for the driver's aids. There is something special about the 996 GT3 however...

The 996 GT3 section is full of posts by guys that have sold their GT3's, regretted it, and purchased another (or the same one back).

The 996 and 997.1 GT3's are very close performance-wise. The gap widens as you move to the 997.2 and, of course, the 991 generation, but those are a lot of money and the limits are waaaay up there.
This is the best car to learn on! It will do nothing for you, but do everything you ask! You get to learn what it means to "feel" a car, to understand its behaviour and to become better. Learn how to drive with this!
This is not a paid advertisement for François though wine is accepted.

Haha, thanks Vince, and your comments are very true.

Not sure what keyboard you have, but the cedille goes 'under' the c in François
