Hey Guys .....
Just a bit of information to the local guys who may not know ... HAd a bad day after Sundays shift into spring. Went home to satrt tha car and had a bit of a grenade going off kind of thing in the garage. Will be out of commision for some time I would think. I may try to come and and support you guys at the G2G with the "big wing" but who knows. I may need the time to fix the car...

Anyway rather than go into the details again, you can check out the thread on the 911 forum ....

Read it, responded to it, saddened by it. I have never attempted to take my engine apart. Is the problem that the airbox is not available, or the amount of work to install a new one, or both? I guess even bigger than that is solving the prblem that caused it to backfire and blow apart in the first place.

I think the noise alone would have made me change my diaper. FWIW, I try and take pictures as I go, sometimes it helps to jog my memory when putting stuff back. I hope it all goes well.

Clive, I was going to say that the plug wires are on the wrong plugs but you already figured it out. Few years ago I blew apart a Dodge Ram filter box in a simmilar fashion too!

I have a pretty good timing light. If you want, I can run over to your house and maybe we can figure out what the proper firign order is, then check/adjust the timing.

I think Billy-Bob Herzog got out of the blowin-up business. Not sure about big Jim McBob though. Sounds like he's out your way!
Sorry for the problem but your heading just cracked me up.
Hope you get things sorted out 'real fast'.

Bill

Clive,

No flapper in the box?? (wow, does that sound like a loaded question!).

Now you can do that engine drop you've been wanting to do for so long!

It's really not so bad a job.

Clive now is the time to move over to a turbo car and set that baby aside. Give your driveway a wider look.
There's nothing like a big fat ***..................................................................... . Porsche.
It's the only time you can associate "desirable" and "fat ***" together in the same sentence.
