Just got the box. NDP campaign posters and flyers? That wasn't on the list. I'm sure they represent you Ontario farmers very well but, I don't think they even field a candidate in our riding. Thanks for the thought anyway. Glad to see you're getting lots of use out of the new crack pipe I sent you. Coming down to Fl. in the next couple of Months? I leave on monday.
Happy New Year

Dead-Eye....love your idea bud !!......A RENNLIST party in Rio de Janeiro would be great (I almost got a FERRARICHAT one organized a year or two ago).....but the problem is there is no Porsche dealer in Rio (only Sao Paulo) where we could ogle the cars.....LOL !!! And......any true "carioca" (citizen of Rio) would never want to go to Sao Paulo unless they were dragged kicking and screaming......heh.....it's kind of an Edmonton/Calgary thing they've got going on.

Dennis Kalma....I live in Calgary....and I think we've met before....your name is very familiar.....welcome to Rennlist !!

Anyways......a formal document renouncing my Canadian citizenship delivered to the embassy along with my burnt Canadian passport is all it would take for me (a Brasilian passport is automatic after 36 months of residency as I am married to a Brasilian)......legalities aside however, if the government won't let us renounce our citizenship who cares.......they are not a government that is representative of me and I ignore them.

The Liberals behave with a delusionary sense of self importance and immunity from responsibility for their actions. This has to change. A change in personnel is required, and then when they get corrupt change them again. Chretien was the worst PM in recent memory, in a long line of self-serving, pompous buffoons. Our government is a joke, our reputation in the world is suffering and the excuses by our elected officials is wearing thin.

Penalise the law abiding, tax paying citizens and give into the special interest groups to further the appearance of making a difference. The violence in Toronto has shown that the liberal gun registry is a joke - it's easier to acquire contraband firearms than legal ones - besides, the criminals do not register their guns. The money that was pissed out the window in the sponsorship scandal is nothing compared to the waste and inefficiency that is perpetuated by the government but it is an beacon illuminating a need for change and and indication that the arrogance has crossed the threshold of public tolerability.

Unfortunately even if we were to get rid of the liberals I'm sure their replacements will not be much better - but why reward those who are smugly screwing the Canadian public.

Strong leadership is required to improve Canada for all Canadians - not just improve the bank accounts of those in power and their cronies. And that doesn't mean spend spend spend on socialistic programs. A comprehensive program to improve productivity of all sectors (public and private) is required. Changes to taxation (lower in certain areas to spur investment and growth), transfers to the provinces and municipalities and reform of many federal departments which are failing those who they are supposed to service (Indian Affairs, Fisheries, Customs and the list could go on and on).

We may not like many of the policies of the US but one I think is a root cause of many of our social ills is the fact that in the US someone who is successful is many times a role model to others and the entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged. In Canada there are many more roadblocks to success by entrepreneurs and small business in general. Those who are successful are considered "lucky" by many. Our tax system is indicative of this philosophy.

Happy New Year from the Carribean!

Bottom line is that nothing in Canada will change fast enough for me. I doesn't matter who takes power, non will make the serious changes necessary to improve the economy and make the radical changes necessary to maintain a working medicare system.

The only individual I would vote for in the upcoming election is Ralph Klein, too bad he is smart enough not to get involved in federal politics.

Default oh canada...

being a native quebecois i find this whole debate rather interesting, let me start by saying that our economy(interest rates, employment rate, surplus, etc.) is far better off now than in memory, does anyone here remember the last conservative government's track record...yah they weren't crooks either LOL...if any of you believe that ANY level of our government is not crooked then you are fooling yourself...and i love brazilian women as much as the next guy but the bodygaurd in the passenger seat of my C2S would be a bit of a buzz killer, so no thanks...as for the rest of canada, i would have politely begged us to leave years ago...glenn
p.s. i'll be leaving as well, where to i don't yet know, but something tells me the various revenue agencies will, at best, be getting a post card from me...tah, tah

instead of broad statements like conservatives are crooks too how about some examples...heres one...chretien accused mulroney of stealing and was sued...we canadians then paid over 3 million to settle with mulroney after it ws shown chretien had no basis for his accusations.....got any examples of the conservatives stealing in the past?? our economy is doing well but i dont think any specific liberal policies have helped that...care to share one??

...let's see...sir john a macdonald for one, but that's nitpicking...how about andre bissonnette, sinclair stevens, michel gravel, john fraser,etc,etc...but you're missing my point, MOST politicians regardless of affiliation are self-serving businessmen, not humanitarians, and yet we still expect more after a couple of hundred years of scandal...we're the fools...
