Turbo Honda K-Series swap into my Porsche
Hi Everyone
Thought id share the progress of my 997 project
So i have this 2006 911 Carrera S and basically i was bored of the power. I own a dyno and tune cars here in Toronto and have lots of Honda clients making 500+ HP effortlessly and very inexpensively
So... my idea, swap in a Honda K24 engine with a custom turbo kit and shoot for 500-600whp
A couple details of the project - The engine is a 2013 Civic Si K24Z7, I have a GTX3582R turbo, i have ordered up a Kennedy Engineering engine to transmission adapter with clutch kit and I have a Syvecs S7Plus ECU to get the Honda engine to run in the Porsche
I have my reasons for doing this project and i am sure it will be met with mixed reviews, but I wanted to share the progress so far and figured this would be a good place to start
If you're interested in checking it out, I've been documenting it on my YouTube channel

Please keep updating. This is very neat. Has it been done before in the US?

Get your flame suit on. The horror.
On the other hand, It’s your car and you only live once, so enjoy the project.

That's AWESOME!!! But why not start with a Honda V6 and boost that? With a V6 you will have more low end torque that can be used when driving around.
That oil pan looks pretty close to the ground.

good luck... not a fan of "re-badging" though.

Thanks. i had considered the V6, the issue is the size, the Honda J series engines are even taller and i doubt it would have fit. Oil pan wise, i believe its about the same as the Porsche oil pan clearance

Please keep us in the loop on the cost of this conversion, I'd like to know how's this compares to a LS1 swap

I’m going to be “that guy”. Lol
its nice to do things just to say you did it or that you can, but sometimes you shouldn’t. You can shoehorn anything into whatever car you want if you have the talent but doesn’t make it sensible. From what I have seen, when the 4 cyl Honda engines are boosted to those power levels the power comes in at high rpm like a sledgehammer and not really usable. There is nothing like the sound and smooth power delivery of a N/A flat 6, it’s what gives these cars the incredible balance they have. Another point, a well maintained 911 is one of the lowest depreciating sports cars out there, and doing this your car it will drop 20k in value minimum.
But I digress, not my money not my car just may opinion, which are like @ssholes, everybody has them.
