Default Where to buy oil

What oil do you guys put in your cars and where do you buy it?

Having a hard time finding the correct weight and specs (API SH or SJ, ILSAC GF1) at the big stores. Feels weird to have it shipped.

Thanks in advance!

It depends what you want to buy. If you want to run Mobil 1 0w40 then you can get it at Cdn Tire

If you want to run something more exotic like Joe Gibbs Driven (which i run) then there are a few specialized shops like Performance Improvements where you can usually get it (or they will order for you)

Not looking for anything exotic but still not finding the factory recommended weights.

Forgot to mention this is for a 996 3.6 (m96?).

Factory is 10w40, 15w40, 15w50 for summer.

Will check the “performance” shops.

Thanks!

+1 for Germanparts.ca Liqui Moly 5w40 for my ride . Just be more concerned with changing it every 5,000k more than the brand ...can't go wrong with any of the mentioned brands.

re:5w40

- just differences in what's available now vs back in 2002 when the 996/986 's were in production is my guess...

I usually run Castrol Edge/Syntec synthetic in 5w40 when on sale at Cdn Tire,

I also have 2 jugs of M1 0w40, but the interwebs says it's bad or not good, or will instantly destruct my 986s (3.2L) motor, so I haven't put it in yet....

I want to do an oil change soon as the oil in there has about 500-800km of track running on it, but I also have a oily lower engine (thinking spark plug tubes again) I have UV dye that I want to add to the present oil and check it out., then order parts...
