GTA - Vehicle Appraisal for Shipping
Hi GTA Rennlisters,
I'm shipping my 01 Boxster S back to Vancouver, and apparently Hansen's is requesting an appraisal and provincial safety inspection. I didn't have to do this the first time I shipped my car from Vancouver to Toronto, so this is a new process for me.
Does anybody have a recommendation on where to get both done? My car is going in to Mantis Automotive next week for its seasonal oil change and seasonal wheel swap (my tires are in their storage.) I recall a Rennlist member active on the board who did appraisals, but the name slips me.
For those who care, it's going to cost me $1348 all in to ship via Hansen's with their "no frills" insurance policy, but seems as if shipping a vehicle over 15 years old requires a safety and appraisal. My gut feeling tells me the appraisal and inspection are going to run me close to $1600 all in at a +/- 10%. TFX quoted $2000 all in with no inspections or appraisals, and shipped via an enclosed trailer. I'm thinking at this point, it's easier to simply deal with TFX. Any leads and recommendations / advice appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I went through this with Hanson’s and they also requested a BC province certificate when shipping from Vancouver to Toronto which nobody would do for me on my Ontario plated car.
Ended up using Livingston’s. No nonsense. Easy. Drop off at rail yard in Vaughn and pick it up at the rail yard in Richmond.

Thanks for that, shinrai. I hadn't considered Livingston's. I contacted them and they were quick to respond, and didn't require the vehicle inspection and appraisal, and was as competitive as Hansen's. I'll figure this out shortly. Thanks!
