What a magnificent car & one I was completely unaware of, thanks for sharing.

Bets on who will buy it? Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, David McNeal, some rennlister?

BTW this line in the article made me chuckle: "After the war, some rotten Americans got hold of the second car..."

Three were built. One was destroyed in a bombing in Berlin. This one here has the original body but has lost its original engine. A second one, which I have seen , was crashed and ultimately cnnibalized for parts by Otto Mathé, an amateur racing driver. The guys at Museum Prototype got all of the racer specials he had built using the parts and recovered the engine, chassis, running gear, wheels and instruments. everything but the body, They built a new body by measuring the above car and very carefully comparing photographs of the two cars which were slightly different. Took ten years.
