looking for feedback on crossdrilledrotors dot ca
Thinking about getting a set of slotted rotors and street pads for my 986S (Boxster) this year. My rotors are getting close to minimum spec, and I plan to track it 5-10 times this summer at Grand Bend... I got a set of Hawk(?) track pads at the end of last year that I used once or twice.
There prices are very good... just wondering if anyone has any insight into them...

I remember checking those out a few years ago. They look a little questionable in my opinion.
I ended up staying away from no-name rotors and got the OEM 987 CS cross drilled rotors from German parts.ca for about $500.

I know for sure, their website is screwed up for the prices on front rotors... They don't have any listed for under $1000... I did the online chat thing, and the sales person quoted me $633 - shipped and taxes for:

@petee_c You have to be careful when choosing properly manufactured cross drilled rotors, you want cross drilled rotors that were cast with the holes as opposed to blanks being drilled after the fact. Drilling after the fact makes the rotor weak due to drilling through the grain structure of the metal, which is a contributor to cracks.
I would also look at DBA (disc brake Australia) rotors and carbotech pads if you are hitting up the track. PM me if you need to know where to pick these up locally.

I have rotors from Brake Labs on eBay. Similar process, machined in the US from overseas blanks. Just over 25k on them now with hawk pads. IIRC the set of rotors was $230 usd.
I drive fairly spirited and when down on the BRP etc. the brakes get a good work out with the 3400lb 928.
