anyone know how 1010tires works ?

I tried to figure it out but its confusing

the website is US based.. so I imagine it is USD , then you pay to ship them to their location in Mississauga ? then have them installed and/or picked up from there ?
Do they charge more to install if you buy them from the website ? some places quote you installed and balanced.. so I'm trying to compare apples with apples.

I basically have 4 loose wheels I want to put winter tires on.

I used them along time ago, prices are Canadian. Maybe you need to change your location on the website preferences. I have 8 tires shipped to my home addresses. Tires were shipped out of BC and I did not have any customs charges.

x2 Been years since dealing with them but they're CDN so prices and shipping should not be any surprise.

I have found that the CAD prices quoted on 1010tires are significantly higher than calling your local tire or speed shop. Just my observation when looking at tires over the years for my Porsches.

I bought tires for my old 996 and my Toyota Tundra through 1010 tire; was significantly cheaper than local shops in rural Alberta. Great service & speed of delivery. I would buy from them again.

Though for my 997, I bought the tires at Costco as they had Pirelli at the time at a crazy good price.

Have shopped them years ago. Pricing didn't compare with Tire Rack. Back when exchange rates were favourable. Best deal now seems to be known high volume shops.

They have a small facility near 403/Dundas. Doesn't seem busy when I drive by it regularly. Not sure if they do installs there.

I have found them pretty competitive, and helpful on the phone. Used them a few times now. They were also one of the few shops I found that were able to get NT01's years ago...

FWIW as far as online Canadian options go, I've found good prices on pmctire.com a couple times. 1010 has good selection, but prices are generally pretty high. Costco is usually great if they have what you want, but they often don't.

^ PMC tire is where I bought my last two sets of tires. Painless.

I had a good experience with PMC as well. Good price and I think the tires arrived the next day!

I used them years ago and they were fine. They are located in Richmond BC.

I usually buy from Costco or other sources now.

I used them several years ago when I needed R888s, couldn't find them anywhere else at their price (and if memory serves, tirerack.com wouldn't ship to Canada). Price was very competitive and they were delivered right to me, they dropped them in the driveway.

pmc tire or quattro tire in quebec for the past 5(?) sets of tires?

JasonKM 02-21-2019 02:46 PM

I would try SimplyTire (www.simplytire.com). they post their pricing under "products", which includes install

1010 is BC based. Call Kipling Tire, the owner is a Porsche enthusiast and he is very competitively priced. I got winter tires for my wife's INFINITI QX70 S and he was cheaper than Costco.
