I ended up with a diesel.

2015 Golf tdi 6MT only 66K km on the clock. Almost 7yrs and 195K km left on the powertrain and emissions systems warranty.

Only bummer is if I Malone tune it now, I lose all that warranty.

Under $18k out the door.

My cost numbers ended up to be around $4200/yr if I drive 30K km annually, and I keep it to 250K km.. However I may switch to something else in 3 yrs if I get bored of it, should still be worth quite a bit in 36 months with 150K km on the clock...

I am not sure... it has the emissions mods stickers under the hood, and it is elligible for the vw extended dieselgate warranty (confirmed when I called the service dept at the local vw dealer).... however I got it at an Infiniti dealership,...., and I was lead to believe by the saleslady it was a trade in... Carfax showed VW Finance, so may have been a lease? dunno...

It was the best price/km of the cars I saw on autotrader/kjiji, and happy with the colour and that it's stick shift... Our last cars had sunroofs, but I don't think I used it enough to miss it... For roof down, I take the boxster.

That would be on a VIP as well.

OP - Don't mod it, enjoy the warranty while you have it.
