I’d like to convert my 1948 International Harvester to 100% electric.

Does anyone know of any fantastic shops that specialize in this?

Been looking at EV West for a 911 conversion. Not local, but experienced.

What did he get for $25K? There is a guy on the 996 forum that had a proper conversion done to his car and the total was around $100K by the time it was near completion. He wanted something that rivaled a Tesla (this was before the Tesla 3 was introduced)

You can buy everything you need for a Tesla conversion; p85D motor and batteries good for 125 mile (200 km) range for a 911 for around $25k USD in a bolt in kit. Add some interesting DIY labour, incidentals and offset with sale of some ICE components and $40K is possible in my plan. You'd drop $20K on an ICE rebuild without the performance.

Check out the "Electric 911" in the August Panorama. Cost $78,000 US to convert a '79 SC a decade ago and the original (terribly low) 120 mile range has dwindled to 50 necessitating a $20,000 battery replacement. What was he thinking? Guess he wasn't.

LOL I'd go propane, about $2,500 to convert and 54 cents per liter to fill up.

If you don't want the Tesla conversion performance you can do the conversion for around $10K in parts + labour for a non direct-drive install and >160 km range. Cheaper if you're creative. We've moved on from then.

Battery tech is obviously rapidly improving, it hasnt the benefit of decades of development that ICE has. Early adopter fee but today's are much better than a decades ago. My brother's Leaf is going on 6 years with near enough 85% batteryhealth.

Hey Ronnie, any plan to convert your TT? You might gain some needed torque!

Just like the steam engine, the ICE is on the way out. I'm sure there were people like you in 1903 that thought the steam will last forever. The writing is on the wall, all the major manufacturers starting making electric cars.
