Default New 4s price in canada

Hey guys,

Newbie user, newbie question here, so please be patient with me :-). Thinking about ordering a new 4S for next year, might wait for the 992. Anyways I'm wondering what kind of negotiation % I can
expect to have with my local dealer here in Montreal. Is it reasonable to expect having a 3-4% saving on a car ordered? The 992 it might be more difficult as the model will be brand new and in higher demand... but what about
on a 991.2? What if it's one they have in stock already?

Thanks for your help guys,

Ian

I suspect you will get no discount on a custom order of a 992. If you buy a 991.2 sitting on a dealer lot, you have a better chance at a discount, maybe 5%?

C4S will be a while out...perhaps next fall?

They usually release the Carrera, Carrera S models first then move onto the 4, 4S, etc. thereafter.

Why not grab an existing C4S?

3-4% (with no dealer fee) is possible in Montreal. I got 5% on my Macan GTS earlier this year and they were dangling that discount for an ordered 991 GTS(I passed on the 911).

That's what I'm thinking, I've been able to negotiate 3-4-5 % on BMW's ordered in the past... maybe I'll have more chance on a 991.2

Yes, that's probably going to be what I'm going to do. especially at this time of year they prob don't move as many 911 as say cayennes, I may be able to do something on a car they have on the lot if it's close
enough to my wanted specs

There's a reason why discounts are larger on Macan...tons out there! This same rationale does not apply to the 911.

If you look at any cdn Porsche dealership right now there isn't really that much choice, whereas there's a ton of Macans. Just look at the PCNT lot next to the 404...rows of Macans

That's true, but they also sell a lot less 911's up here in December :-)

Yup, but discount will also depend on who has an available allocation if you want to order. It also helps to know when the build close dates are. The closer you are you are to the close date, the more likely you are to negotiate a discount. If there is an open allocation, the dealer would rather use it now than wait. We ordered our Macan GTS at the end of January with the idea that the dealer/SA would have an incentive to make a monthly sales target and January is a pretty dead month for vehicle sales. Our build closed the next day (also planned). We were pretty happy with 5% off MSRP (we asked for 6%). The 5% off for the 991 GTS was only good for a few weeks. Presumably that was when 911 builds closed.

The dealer is the only one who will know about 991 allocation/availability if you want to order. There may be some slots still available because people could be waiting for 992. Just go in and chat. We were very happy with Porsche Prestige. Good knowledge and no pressure tactics.

Hi Ian, I work in sales at Prestige. 3-4% is reasonable to expect on a 991.2 order, depending on when you want the car and how much in options you put. It should still be possible to get an allocation to receive it by next summer, otherwise we do have incoming stocks. We will however not move much on 992'S, and you will most likely have to wait for summer 2020 for a 992 4S as the C2/C2S' will be released first. We have a ton of preorders for them already.
