My 88 3.2 has been diagnosed as in need of a full engine rebuild. Will seek second opinion for due diligence. In the mean time, wanted to collect some recommendations for trusted local shops, or to which I could trailer to car (N-E US), who have a good reputation for air-cooled rebuilds with performance upgrades. Looking for value, especially since all parts seem to come from US and our dollar is poor. Would also consider a 964/993 swap. Just unsure where to go; no time or inclination really to DIY this type of project.

Yup I second JR. JR is doing another rebuild right now on his 76Targa and he and I tackled my prior 80 SC hotrod.
