Every car since the 90's beeps when you arm or lock the doors.
I really hate having to look at the lights every time as I walk away....
Sometimes they do it so well and sometimes they just fall asleep at the wheel...

If it had separate lock and unlock buttons on the key (which every car should, IMO) it would be fine. But without that, I agree. For cabs, the mods4cars smart top module will add a beep on locking; I think they have a module for coupes too, but it's probably not cost effective just for this.

The single button is the real PITA. My MB doesn't beep either but at least it has two buttons.

I'd rather have 2 separate buttons and no beep but with the 1 button, I would like the beep too.

It drives me nuts! The beep would be so convenient....Though, I learned to always look back and wait for the double signal blink

there is a hack you can do via messing with the glove compartment closed sensor - do a search re this on the forums as i cant recall the exact procedure.

Doesn't the double flash indicate that there is an issue with the alarm?

First of all, Bruno, are you my old neighbour/poker buddy from Oak Ridges? If so, congrats on the car! I bought a 997 Turbo Cab last April and I can tell you that the 997 does beep because I have heard my car beep at least once but then never again. It actually sound just like the Audi. So perhaps there is some other issue with the beep not working on a 997. Either that or I am haring things...lol

Justin! Wow a 997 Turbo Cab? Nice!
Good to see things are going well for you in Ottawa.

Just got a Speed Yellow 997.2 C4S in time to put her away for the winter. LOL.

Yeah the 997 won't beep the horn unless you leave your glovebox open or door ajar or stuff like that....
Unless you buy a module that makes it happen....

C4S...sweet Bruno! As for the beep, I guess I must have had my door open or the glove box open the one time I heard it.

My 2007 Boxster beeped+ flashed lights on locking/unlocking. I believe double flash locking/single flash unlocking.
My 2009 Boxster just dbl flash locking/single flash unlocking.
Only time it beeps now is if I hit the lock button on remote, and either a door,or frunk, or trunk is unlatched. I would prefer it beeped when locking/unlocking.I was under the impression it could be programmed to do that-just never got around to get it done
