WTB: Track prepped 996/Cayman
Got bitten with the DE/track day bug this year. I'm looking to save my 993 from more track abuse next season.
I'd like to find a well prepared 996 or Cayman S.
Must be street legal as I'll need to drive it to and from the track. Willing to travel to find the right vehicle.
Budget around $35k

What about a 986 Boxster S with a hardtop, good motor trans to start with?

There was a nicely track prepped 968 for sale not long ago , i'm sure with a 35K budget it can become a really nice car !
It's in the general For Sale ads ,posted on 09-04-2018 for $18,500 , seems to have good potential !

My 4.0 996 will be for sale soon. Not track prepped but the motor has been properly prepped for track. I would add a deep sump kit and that's about it.
PM me but I'd be asking close to 35 for it. It's an 02 C4S with LNE/JE internals.

Hey thanks... I should have clarified, I'm looking for a C2. Appreciate your response!

What's wrong with a boxster? With a 35k budget you could pick up a great S, spend 10k on getting it track prepped and still have enough left for several seasons of track fees and tires. Mid engine, RWD, but still has comfy seats and AC for the drive home.

Nothing... I would just prefer a hard top. And yes, I'm aware you can buy hard tops...

Deals are out there, just be patient. I acquired a 2006 Cayman S fully prepped car a couple months ago, for a good bit less than the max budget you've allocated. Local in the GTA as well. Result of me posting a WTB ad, just as you've done.
The only thing street legal about my car was that it had Trofeo R DOT approved R compounds and a license plate LOL. This time of year, you will absolutely get the car you're looking for and hopefully have some change leftover for tires, brakes, fuel and entry fees. Good luck and great call looking for a dedicated tool for the track.

Yes sir. Managed to get to every PCA Mosport weekend this season. Aug & Sept with the Cayman. Sept with the tire trailer which I still laugh every time I look at it, it's awesome.
