No I meant if there was a difference in tires between CL and 5 lug wheels?
Which winter tires do you guys recommend I buy? My C4 GTS will be my daily all year long in Oakville/Burlington.

Check sizes that are available as there are not many options ie its usually the Alpins, Pirellis or Michelins. The lugs vs CL shouldnt make any difference as it the rims size, not how they are attached.
Glad you are getting winters. Driving on high performance summer tires in the winter is idiotic. In fact i dont know how anyone who does this actually can move the car in the snow. One year it snowed early and the wheels just spun with virtually no traction. Even if its dry its like driving on hockey pucks and braking distances will increase dramatically. My bro in law insists winter tires are a scam and he doesnt need them cause he so much of a better driver than everyone else. Yeesh, like i said, hes an idiot
Would anyone know if a set of 17" factory wheels off a 996 will fit onto a 986 Boxster S for the sake of winter wheels only? A gracious Rennlister has offered his wheels with snow tires but I want to do my due diligence first to ensure they do work and don't cause problems. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance!
hbear what is the Turbo S winter package exactly? Is it the combo of the Turbo S CL rims and winter tires for about $10K?
Or another option is put winter tires on the OEM wheels and get something different for summer... I run Forgelines with Michelin Sport Cup 2s in the summer and PA4s on the stock wheels in winter.

Do you park outside? If yes, how do you deal with the window drop down when it gets frozen?

Thankfully I have a garage and also park indoor at work so it is actually fairly rare to have the car get hit with snow/ice during the winter... when it does happen though no issues with the window so far.
