Do you drive your 911 all year round?

Vise can you post or PM me details of your exact rims with costs? I don’t want to pay $10K for a Turbo S winter package wheel set to be honest and am looking at all my options.

Just be ready for a sizeable number no matter what you do....CLs are NOT cheap and limited in offering.
Stock wheels are about $4500 CAD a piece, HRE was right around that figure if I remember as well.
When I was looking the Porsche winter package was actually a good value compared to what I was pricing out.

Just put winter tires on your CLs. Takes some time twice a year but would save you a ton of dough.

I don’t believe there are winter tires that fit the CL without a decent stretch or exposing the inner rim barrel to damage.
Turbo S winter CL is 11.5” and the OEM GTS CL is 12”.
Was some threads on this in the main 991 forum.

If you're a big fan of the stock wheels though you could always look at a set of OZ centerlock wheels + winter tires but my guess is you're at $7500-8k all in so not saving much.

Went square with my 987 no problems. Always saw a silver Boxster zoom past me on the dvp to Toronto via the westbound without issues. Running non square OEM with the 981 no issues except clearance (lowered) and a little jitter. I would love to have a 911 with awd. Alpin PA2 and Pirellis. Great car year round.

So 10 or add on +5 so years ago I didn't think it would be a problem but after 15 years ownership of 3 Porsches. I had experience failed suspension components in all 3 of the cars. H&R springs. Bilsteen coilovers rusting out. Maybe oem stuff might last longer but just note GT3 are do not offer the same rust warranty on the car as a non gt car. My 05 Cayenne Turbo is rusting like the titanic but then again it didn't live its whole life on GTA dry winter roads and dealt with extrema road salt of weather conditions that blasts the roads with extreme brine to keep the roads wet and not have to plough.
Honestly the 911's survived long enough on dry GTA roads but would never last on real Ont winter roads. From a prospective next owner, keep them garaged in winter, Thanks

N Ontario roads in winter are home to F150s. Even those have challenges, because the brine is corrosive it’s important to run the vehicles (all vehicles) through a car wash that sprays the underside but especially the wheel wells. Do it often and save your money.

There are various thoughts on this ie some suggest that once its all frozen up that you should just leave it because if you are continually providing water (and air) through various freeze/thaw cycles of washing you are just helping any potential rust to get going or accelerate. If its frozen then no air/water and no rust

Think I'd prefer to get the salt (thats what causes problems) off my car.

A wash will get the salt off your paint. I believe the concern is this brine getting into the crevices that aren't easily washed out. Doesn't affect me anyways. Second vehicle for the crappy weather only. I'm the president of the garage queen club.
