Wow, I mean, just... WOW!!! Incredible story and incredible photos! The 59 Cadillac is probably my 3rd favourite looking car of all time, after the 911 and the DB5. It's on my bucket list of cars, but I think I'd have to build an extension on my garage to fit it in! And the prototype 911, that's amazing. I can see at a glance the proportions are different (noticed that before in other pics) but I've never seen the interior before! I think I actually like that dash better than the one they went with, and it probably would have looked better as it wore on into the 80s, too. Love the Arbuckle car, too, and I love that there's someone out there with both the means and the will to restore it properly, especially with a $60k price tag on the tires.

Thanks so much for sharing all this!!!

It was a great event and I was very lucky to be invited...I wish I had something better than my iPhone to do the pics, but by the time I realized it I was on the way. Was fun in a way to see if I could get pics with just a phone

Christien: don’t recall if I mentioned it, but the Pierce Arrow and the ‘59 Caddy have an odd connection. The PIerce was the earliest car to be designed by Harley Earl who went on to become GM’s styling chief during one of its most iconic periods.

Automobile Magazine did a quick report from the same event and chose mainly different cars to highlight...but they do have a bit more info on the 901 prototype:

great write up and event. Thanks for sharing.
Ronan, have you been to Monterey for car week in August? I'm sure you must have gone before but if not you will really enjoy. Rennsport Reunion is in September at Laguna Seca this year.

Dan : have not been to Rennsport which has an amazingly good rep. Have done a fair bit of Monterey at times including the Concorso Italiano; will get there again at some stage. Have a firm commitment for the Dr Porsche Austria event in 2020 and might take in the Goodwood Members' meeting nest year. There is always too much opportunity and not enough time.
