Default Niagara Windshield replacement

So have a 997.1 with a rather large crack in my windshield now thanks to a dumptruck on the QEW.
Have read a ton about OEM vs aftermarket and heard both good and bad stories.
Live in Welland so the schlep to Oakville dealer is a bit of a pain to drop off and pick up after everything is done, cured etc.
Anyone in the area have any luck or advice with anyone local? My mechanic Auguste Lecourte seems to think his guy at Speedy is great but with insurance...cost really isn't an issue.
Any input from the cracked windshield crew out there?

If it is an insurance thing go to the dealership. Sometimes they will give you a car but I don't know the parameters.

Zoran @ Zorotech in Stoney Creek. $600 + HST installed for OEM Saint Gobain Sekurit glass & OE Porsche windshield seal. Had mine replaced a month ago and it was a perfect job.

On a related note, how is the quality of the OEM Saint Gobain Sekurit glass? Any blur or waves?

Absolutely not - and I gave it all I had to find something wrong with it LOL. It's absolutely equal to (or better than considering how pitted my OE windshield was) the original glass on my car. And just so it's clear to anyone that doesn't realize, Saint Gobain Sekurit is (one of) the OE manufacturer of the OE 997.1 glass - if you look in the lower left corner, you should see the Sekurit logo.

Thanks for that.

I had an OEM Sekurit replacement for my previous E36 M3 and it was absolutely terrible.

Independent Trim in St. Catharines was recommended to me.

Got hold of my sales guy at Performance BMW who recommended a mobile guy they use for their windshield replacement.
Said he uses PGW glass (Pittsburgh glass works) and can come to my house to do the job.
Apparently he does all the work from the dealership and the price is pretty reasonable and he'll even do the insurance work.
Anyone have experience with PGW?
