Default 991 C2S vs Alfa Romeo 4C

Hey,

I have to replace my fully optioned 991 C2S.

The question posed is;

Should I take a leap on the Alfa or replace it with a comparable 991.

Tested the Alfa on the street and it was a giggle but I love Porsche. The car would be primarily a fun track car.

Any my input would be welcome,
thanks.

PS: Wife said no to a racecar....I still love her but GEEZ!

Never driven one but know of two co-workers that have.

Both were equal in their description as the most fun to drive on the track, not the street.

One has a GT3 and is strongly considering adding the Alfa to his stable.

I'd be very confident that the 991 could be driven home from the track. Can't say the same about an Alfa...

Why not just get right down to it and get an Elise/Exige? At least they won't break down on you like an Alfa.

Keith, jason has one and says it’s a great track car and he pushes it hard... to those who say it would break down, this is based on what ?

Thanks Brahm,

I also posted in the racers and DE board. First reply from Peter Kraus was “I love the Alfa” What the heck does he know anyway?

Pfaff is hurling spew at me for thinking about it. “You’ll lose a lot of money” yadda yadda.....

never came out anywhere near even on a P car so I don’t get chicken little.

GT4 is a nice choice for sure. I’m looking at everything.

Are you saying that Alfa has the same reputation for reliability as Porsche?

Keith, you could always get a Mini

I'm here at Mid-Ohio lapping (and freezing) today--lotsa GT4s but, alas, no Alfas

Still think you'd love one though......

I'm not saying that, no. But I'm going by what an actual owner of the car told me, as opposed to cutting and pasting some links to an alfa forum where people typically go only to complain about their cars. How many people post on car forums to say "my car was awesome today and did not have a mechanical failure"?

FYI I'm not trying to knock the brand. They make great looking cars.

This.

I own 4c. Never had any issues so far after a year of driving. Pretty solid so far.
