Default Back to my original ideas

So getting back to the thoughts in my original post: So I am considering selling the 991 and buying a 993 c2 cabriolet. Thoughts? Would be my main winter vehicle as I’m mostly on my motorcycle in the summer.

Others cars I am considering:
718 cayman s
2008 911 C4S cabriolet.

Thoughts? Again, I’m not connecting with this 991. It just feels like less of a sport car and more of a grand touring sedan to me. Not visceral or connected enough. Not enjoying it at road speeds. Too comfortable. Too easy. Too big.

Depends on what you use it for. Bear in mind the cabriolet is always heavier with added reinforcement to stiffen up the chassis and it still flexes more than the coupe. You would also get more creaks and rattles. If you track the car, get a coupe. If you are want a topless country club roadster, get a cabriolet.

thanks. I’ve been told not to winter drive GT3 because it’s not rust proofed. GT4 is out of my price range.

I'm thinking it would be a shame to run a 993 in the winter ..... and believe me I'm all about driving. I drive one of the most sandblasted cars on here . But still . a 993 through all that slush and snow .... hmmm....

The other thing im wondering is if I were to make the suspension stiffer if that would make me more connected with the car...

truth be told, slot some mods to this car is likely to cost me less than buying a different car. Thoughts?

I just want to feel feel more connected. More one wth the car. More visceral at road speeds.

The car must be okay but an Alfa will be way better than anything you can build.

Not a good idea to drive the 993 in the winter too. There are various components which are prone to rust as they trap water. Example would be the lower front windshield corners.

As well they are older cars and will require much more maintenance esp as a daily driver.

So I’m now considering a 2015 cayman gts. Thoughts on this vs my 991 and if it will be a better drivers car?

I think that if you don't absolutely love the 981 GTS on the roads then you must be dead inside.
