I interviewed Vic years ago about the Targa Fllorio...amazing guy. Here is his interview about the very early days of the competition 911:

One of my all-time favorites--was lucky enough to meet and chat with him at a Summit Point vintage meet years ago. Had some great stories and was only too glad to share them......

Glad to see he's still around!

I recall seeing news footage of a 911 competing in the Monte Carlo Rally in the 60's, and the back end of the car was always trying to pass the front. Must have been interesting in the mountains.

Yeah, that's when the Mini Coopers were king of that rally with Paddy Hopkirk--they won from 1964--67 (in 1966 they finished first but were DQd by some bogus French reg so a Citroen could win )

Anyway, I think Vic competed in at least one of those.....he did some other-worldly things with that silver pretty-much-stock 911.
