Anyone knows anything about this car? My brother is interested in it. http://www.autotrader.ca/a/porsche/9...204H2&sprx=100
Has been on the market for a long time and now the seller says it is at Barrett Jackson in AZ.

I think the market has softened on these a bit. There was one in Hamilton, was average condition, needed a windshield, has a bit more kms with a minor accident on its record. It was advertised at $33 or $35k something like that and it sat for a month or so before it sold.
I don't think this one is worth any more then the asking price, given it shows up as a clean car with nothing bad in its history. The interior is one of those "love it or hate it" interiors that will limit interested buyers.
Barrett Jackson? Good luck with that. We have seen a couple 996's go high there but I wouldn't risk it. Not the target market for that car IMO.

There was a 996 turbo on Kijij this weekend that was for sale for $30k. I'd seen it up for sale before and he was asking $45k.
Seems like a scam, but the ad claimed it was a salvage title from 12 years ago that the owner was unaware of. Anyone else see this?

the market is strong on these cars. if cars are sitting there is a problem with the car. I inspected a local 03 cab tiptronic with 90k kms for a German buyer. Price was 65k and car was rough, some very bad paint work and tree sap damage and rough interior. The dealer said phone was ringing off wall for this and had buyers lined up if German guy passed. They are going for 100k in Europe now. For 30 k I would imagine lots of issues. Many you won't see until you see the car in person. Perhaps some people are mispricing these and some good bargains are out there.

Cool - I'm considering swapping my fully sorted 996TT for a 996 or maybe 997 GT3 as I don't need the practicality of the turbo versus the GT3 anymore. Glad to see that the 996 is finally getting some love!
It is very difficult to beat the package offered by the 996TT. Performance. Reliability. It still looks like a new car to most people. Insane value. I feel that if you can find a nice one, it will probably be the best Pcar purchase, all things considered (especially price!), you will ever make. Finding a good one is the challenge as it took me almost 2 years, and that was 7 years ago! Its only gotten harder!
I think that looks like a seal gray car and not silver as labeled. I can see how the red interior would look good, although perhaps it is a bit of an acquired taste. Seems like a good price too! Great cars - best of luck in the search.

Lots of Porsches at Barrett Jackson right now. Prices so far have been weak.

fantastic cars! IMHO, go for the 6GT3 if you do switch it up... more fun (and arguably more reliable) than a 7
