Angry Any recommendations for a dash cam for my 991

Want to grab myself a dash cam and am looking for some advice on which one is best - there are too many to choose from.

Got hit by a bag that fell off the back of a pickup a couple of weeks ago on the QEW coming into the city around 5.15am and wished I had one to record the incident.

Also looking for some advice on whether or not I should get my 3M wrap replaced at the dealer (Oakville Porsche) or somewhere else.

Thanks in advance.

Blackvue units are always good.
If you're ok with trusting PCO to take care of you than stick with them.. If not, I would recommend Wes @ Orion Detailing.. They can help you out with PPF.

Marco at Advanced Automotive does great work. Did my 911 and A6.

From some research last year Blackvue seems to be at the top.

I have an LG Innotek LGD521. It records both front and rear.

It was purchased and installed at https://lockdownsecuritycanada.ca/ My experience is that they are pretty knowledgeable and will answer all your questions before you make a decision.

Haven't had any issues with the cameras so far. They've been in since mid-summer.

Thanks for the advice and direction on the dashcam options - will read up on some reviews over the next couple of days and make a decision. Really interested to know if the monitoring really works while the car is parked - seems like a great feature.

I use the thinkware F50 in all my cars. I like it because it's small and has no screen, easily hidden in front of your review mirror. And only $130. Cheap enough that you can just buy a second for the rear if you want.

The parking feature works great.

If you go LG.....For our cars, the shock sensor while driving should be "off" Even the lowest setting is annoying.

shock sensor while parked is up to you.

Good point. The exhaust on my daily driver sets mine of all the time. (3" down pipe is loud) At least it's just a small beep on the thinkware.

That's not too bad. With the LG it's a doorbell sound and it's annoying as hell.
