If you want a comfortable ride and nice place to be, the Golf R is the only choice.

Great idea. Looked into this after I saw a few comments about how good these cars are. Picking up a '15 on Saturday!

Really looking forward to not leaving the Turbo at the GO station anymore.

To the OP, I love that RS. It looks sooooo good. I hope to upgrade to one of those in a couple years.

AND, if your new snow tires and rims come with different nuts?
Make sure you pack your original nuts in the car with your ford spare tire.
(if the RS comes with a spare) Your Ford nuts work with your FORD spare.
Do you jack your own car? If your RS is pinch weld jack point.
My Big Smoke invention... with rare earth magnets.

Big Smoke,

That Jack pad you have pictured there assumes that the pinch weld is not the actual lifting point for your vehicle.... It places the weight back on the rocker panels.....

Just food for thought...

I lift my jetta by the actual pinch welds because it has them, the q7 and boxster by their jack locations (they look like pads)

If they give you wheel locks, get he stock wheel nut as well. No point tossing them.
Personally I hate wheel locks, they just inconvenience the owner.
True story.

Summer 1994 - doing a summer placement in a pharmacy and hospital in Bracebridge. Housesitting a cottage on 3 mile lake for my parent's friends.

Middle of the night, someone stole the Rear Driverside wheel from my parent's new 1994 Ford Escort. Left the rotor sitting on a cinder block.

Neighbor helped me put the spare on, but we had to scrounge to find something for lug nuts....

Wheel locks - If you've got'em - use 'em

Neighbour 5 doors down. Couple of year old M5. Go by in the morning. It is up on four cinder blocks, four wheels missing, window smashed to get in the glove box for the wheel key. So missing four wheels and a window. Thieves, suck.

Family friend - driving his SL a few block from avenue road. At a stop sign, some old lady bumps into the back of his car. He get out to check the damage. Gets to the back of the car, door still open, someone jumps out of the bushes and takes his car. It was found 5 months later in an apartment underground. DUSTY.
Thieves, suck.

When it your time, it's just your time. At a cottage in the middle of nowhere? They knew your car and where it would be. There was no "drive by" let go take a wheel. They were hunting for a 1994 ford escort wheel. Thieves suck.

The Russian car thieves will take the whole RS, 6 to a container. Wheel locks still installed, key safely in the glove box. Thieves suck.

Have clear value agreed upon with your insurance company.

O/P. When is your delivery? Exited for you. Need a full driving experience review.

The way I see it is. The chances of getting the wheels stolen are a lot less than loosing the security socket so I prefer to have regular wheel nits/bolts on all my cars. Funny enough, last night was changing to the winter tires on the Passat when I realized that I lost the security socket. Had to hammer in a 16mm triple square bit to get it off. If I had a flat on the side of the road, this would have made for an interesting event.

wheel locks really don't slow down a thief, 100% inconvenience even when key is still with car/not broken

This $10 universal socket opens almost any wheel locks so I tend to agree with Rob here

So I will be picking the RS rather, Porsche of London will be delivering to me on saturday morning.

I've asked them to put on the wintersets instead of deliver the car with Cup2 tires.

I will post pictures once it arrives!

If anyone wants a real beater for this winter, I'm almost finished with my latest project/go kart fund car. It's the neighbor's mom car where she is to old to drive anymore, an 03 Jetta, 2L, Auto. Going to post it on kijiji for $2700 with Safety and eTest next week.

Watch that head gasket. Ford cut a lot of corners on the RS.
