Default Anyone in Markham have a 997 Mahle Air filter ?

Checking if anyone in Markham have a spare new 997 Mahle Air filter (Part #: 996-110-131-52-M67) laying around. Just decided spontaneously to change my air filter tomorrow if I can find one close by.

Thanks for looking

Thanks for everyone who sent me a PM and offered their air filter. I got impatient and got a Porsche OEM air filter at Porsche Center North on Saturday and installed it the same day. Tell them you are a PCA member and get 10% discount.

I have never changed an air filter in any car before but this was real easy and no mess (it is a 1 on a scale of 10).....and I am never paying someone to change air filter for me in this car again....
I thought about changing the oil myself as it is real easy too but I don't want to deal with the mess and dumping the used oil so I will continue going to my mechanic for that...

No need! Just drop it off at any Canadian Tire for free. Since they sell oil and you get charged an environmental tax when yo buy the oil, they are obligated to take it. Actually any store that sells oil is obligated to take it back.

Guess I'm too lazy to drive to CTC, besides Toxic Taxi will also take brake fluid, batteries, paint and all the other hazardous waste I somehow manage to collect

I drop mine at CT but the counsellor in my area has environmental day every September at the local high school where you can drop off any hazardous material.
Lowbee: curious what does your mechanic charge for oil change? Also does he cut open the oil filter and examine it (necessary on a 996/997 engine)? It is an easy and rewarding job.

The 2 shops that I usually take my car to charges just under $300 for oil change (parts & labor) and no they don't cut open the oil filter but I do send my oil to Blackstone for UOA.

Question: does 997.1 have oil service reminder that needs resetting at every oil change ?

Next time ask them to put the filter in a ziploc back and give it you. You can then cut it open at home with a utility knife and have a good look at it. If you ever decide to do the oil change yourself, you can save around $200 each time. There really isn't much to it.

Not sure about this anymore. The CTC in Etobicoke has signs (and cameras) posted around their shop warning people not to leave their used oil....
