Unfortunately yes but there are ways to manage that risk

I believe those are gen1 ceramics. If they are then beware. Very faulty and very expensive. I have the gen3 ceramics on my car and did a ton of reading on them before I ordered. The gen2 were better but still risky. Gen1=run the other way!

I think would be cheaper to convert to steel than deal with those headaches

Having gen1 ceramics is a reason to run away? Seems like a straight forward problem to solve.

yeah I think the point is to do the conversion would cost big dollars so your good deal may not turn out so great.

Yup.
Sell them for 1/2 of retail, buy steel for 1/2 that and pocket the money. I've heard of a few people doing this.

I'm not sure you would get half the retail price for 10 year old brakes. What I do know is if I were to buy this car I would have someone experienced with ceramic brakes look at them. Just to take the wheel off straight requires a special tool so the rotors don't get chipped. And yes uniquename, I would run away from Gen1 ceramics. Don't believe me though. Google is your friend.

Umm I know mohit personally, I don't think I'd sweep the car off of him when he is posting that he is interested in the car.

Also how did a car inquiry become a parts flip discussion?

Thank you all for the feedback, the dealer was unable to meet my conditions including a fair trade-in value so I've passed on the vehicle.
