I am planning for a drive from Kuala Lumpur to Chang Rai via Tak - Mae Sariang and Pai. From there I will be heading towards Mae Sai and the Golden Triangle before heading to Phitsanuluk. Moving on I will be making my way towards Loei and take the scenic route along the Maekong river before arriving at Non Khai where I intend to cross over to Laos heading towards Vientiane. Are there any procedures that i need to be aware off when crossing at Nong Khai? Can anyone recommend me a good hotel in Vientiane? I will be leading a pack of 20 super cars and was wondering whether its safe to do so in vientiane without police escorts. Any advice or input would be much appreciated.
