Also floated the idea of a one car Dunlop 800. Can we do it? Just one car. I think it has merit. Drive for survival.
Haven't forgotten the Vtec however chaining the wheels makes it less of an opportunistic drive. I'll get to it and I've bought a book for the Grinch engine teardown.

Would need to confirm but considering that we'll likely be doing five driver changes anyway, I think 2K would be fine with us running as a team with one enduro car. I have two pairs of heat proof welding/blacksmith gloves that allow hot brake changes on two corners at a time if need be too. Neil and I currently hold the hot brake change record from BB2s last outing. Well, for the left corner anyway, the right took longer thanks to a misaligned clipped washer. Won't catch me again.
Burning Brakes
Im slowly working my way into the too hard basket for this LiFePO4 lightweight battery. Was chasing the leads on the Shorai battery and spoke to a motorbike guy at R&R Powersports who said they'd had as many warranty claims on them as batteries they'd sold. He strongly recommended agains them.
Thinking I'll stick with the Fullriver HC20 and let the tech get a little more established. Thoughts John/Walter?

Advanced
I ran a shorai battery in a Yamaha triple motorbike for a while. I needed the space saving of the LiFePO4 battery as I was building a custom bike, but didn't enjoy the other aspects of it.
I had to upgrade the rectifier/regulator to ensure I wasn't overcharging the battery during normal use, but even still I always had the threat of it overcharging/smoking up in the back of my mind, and had the cold start issue where it would often take a few minutes of waiting for the battery to warm up. I think someone mentioned this issue a while ago, where people run the headlights for a bit to get enough current through for a few minutes.
The battery didn't actually let me down, but I think a standard lead acid avoids a few headaches/minor inconveniences for daily use. I wonder if those warranty claims are due to improper charging either from the alternator, or using non-LiFePO4 specific chargers

Thanks for that cliffjumper.
Just as I'm squeezing the trigger on the status quo, Jack drops in and says no problem...

Thanks for that VTEC check. Hopefully an easy fix but if not I can look to take BB2 back to Woodys or maybe J-Tune once we know. That aside she's looking quite unloved. Dents, poorly fitting panels etc. That combined with the seized engine status of the Grinch (second engine lunched in very few meets), BB's Carcass at Chris' place plus 9 spare tyres, two gear boxes and a door all sharing space with my C4s has me contemplating where to go from here.
Let's enter BB2 as a sole entrant in the 800 for 2 July. Sort out the outstanding bills then have a thought on the way forward. Personally I'm leaning towards some form of exit, partial or full as I'm not getting the racing in, mostly due to my travel schedule.
my old GT3 is for sale again, i'm pretty sure i sold it at the right price otherwise i sold it way too cheap!!

Mrphil- great to meet you in person down at Ruapuna in March mate! I think you sold it at a good price, even made a few bucks which is always nice, but whom ever is selling it now is way way over market. An excellent example with 28k miles just sold to a pistonheader for 71k GBP and that's at UK market prices! You can still pickpocket a good 996 GT3 over there for 60k GBP if you are fast (yellow mk 1 with 45k miles sold recently 62k asking 65k). For the 997.1GT3 I think it's the RS asking the big money. It seems nZ traders now think they can ask more than UK? Point in case agate 2014 991GT3 currently at Gillies asking $350k - WTF?!? If kiwis are paying this money going to be some sore heads when the music stops playing. It always stops playing eventually...

i was abit shocked to see it back on the market so soon as i sold it to a private buyer and now a dealer has it. With it being sold so regularly i dont think it would be good for its reputation
Three Wheelin'
No posts for a few days, unheard of in this thread! Passed by a few 911's yesterday on Trig Rd, Whenuapai. a black aircooled 911 with an RSG banner following a silver watercooled 911. During the week I spied a purple 996(?) turbo at the Whenuapai panelbeater.
