At the time I broke the engine I was undecided what route to take, sell, fix up or turn into classic race car............
In the end I just decided to fix and keep doing play days for a while longer.
I have rebuilt the gearbox too, and replaced brake pads so everything is very tight and needs bedding in before the sprints.........

It's hard to say how the car is now as several things and been refurbished and replaced in anticipation of a Summer of track days - everything needs bedding in.
The car sounds the same, feels the same and is VERY smooth to drive. I can't redline the car so haven't had to chance so see if it's quicker. I was just enjoying the lightness and precision of an 1100kg car with nicely setup suspension.........
Nice to have the old girl home. I need to put 1,000km's on her before I can cane it.............

Paul. Sounds like you are in love again. Thats me every time I come home to NZ! Theres nothing that makes you appreciate owning and driving a 911 more than not having one....
Graeme. Interesting link. Not my cup of tea styling wise but alot of innovation there in the weight reduction department! I though DP Motorsports had died years ago so it was interesting to learn they still exist...

Sh*t 911's are a lot of fun to drive, jumped in, started down the road and instant huge grin, nothing has the character of a 911, I just love driving these things!!

Yup, insurance is pretty much a done deal, just wait for Steve to get back to me with a PoV on the package.
Roll on Aug 11th...

I'll bet! You can enjoy her for a long time now. I can't wait to get back to my car. I'm not sure I will really notice the hp difference given I've been away from it for so long but it won't matter!

Three Wheelin'
Isn't it always the way ... You get in the car not having driven it for a while and think man this is fantastic. Drive it a while and then start thinking I could just mod this or mod that.
Secret on that basis is not to drive it too much? and save on the wallet? But seems we can't help ourselves.
By the way remember that discussion on engine oil? The recommendation for my 2.8 engine is
MOTUL 300V Competition 15W-50

I can also definitively state that the 964 won't be there.
As Peter knows (saw him at Contis this morning) I have a new problem. It appears that the lack of spirited use under the past ownership has allowed the rear slave cylinder to seize. Part # 928.332.775.12. Contis will see if a specialist can unsieze/rebuild it. If not, then we're looking at USD 354 used or USD 765 new. At this rate I may have to go back offshore to keep the Porsche passion alive....just joking.
