The main as is an excellent read - http://4sure.co.nz/downloads/ak0.pdf.

He must be a copywriter with prose like that.

Don't doubt it. I just want to reuse my experience, documents and spare parts so it has to be a 964 for me.

Right now it's looking good for that and I'm basically sorted, bar any leaks or other issues showing up when I push it. The last hiccup was the throttle cable setting, which I resolved this afternoon. I now have the correct microswitch operation for idle and wide open throttle, which will let the Typhoon ECU work its magic. With the cat and cup bypasses Herman is a bit on the loud side, but the extra 10hp with the cat bypass means I will put the primary back on if need be. I'm not interested in giving up any power. I also checked and have my resonance flap opening at 5,700 rpm, which based on this motec graph looks perfect for that Lola taming grunt. That's another 20hp on what I've been running since January. I figure I've picked up maybe 5kg with the extra paint coat so I deleted the rear heater fan to compensate I'm running with nothing in the frunk (no spare, no tools and no carpet) and I may get a light battery to lose a few more kg. Also in the firing line is the aircon compressor. After that I'm running out of items to cull weight. That will leave more power as an obvious goal. I need to wire a plug for the wide band O2 sensor to check that I'm getting the most out of the current setup.
Looks like you will be making more power to weight than the 993s John. I expect I might be chasing you at HD in Jan :-)

From what I've learnt supercharging a 911 and track work don't go together very well without copious plumbing and ideally water injection...

Any of you guys know what type of "Paddle Clutch" this "Black Bitch" is sporting? Sounds interesting..... almost as interesting as the owner of this car I bet!! What a write up! I was laughing my *** off! Probably a cool car, it's got some nice hardware.

I'm hoping for 265 to 275 reliable horsepower so still below the 993 level. The 11th will be mostly sorting and testing systems. I'll run on the road tyres I will use at the first weekend of the Festival. The Z221s will come out in the second weekend.

Fantastic job John. Herman will undoubtably be the best sorted 964 around. Lola won't be able to trouble you unless I feed you copious Christmas cake and stash some sirupticious lead under your seat. I'm running roadies for the regularity trial too.

Does anyone know how to find out what time the registration and practice sessions will be on the Friday? I'm planning to drive the 4 hours from Oakura on the day.

A 1989 3.2 Carrera coupe is super desirable, being the last year of classic 911 manufacture.

In OEM trim and circa 8/10 condition, it would have to be worth at least $80K?

This car must be a super desirable project donor being a genuine RHD and having the G50 box as you can do a 964/993 engine transplant

If you could buy it for $50K, get $5-10K for the bits, you would have a $50-60K war chest to make a 300HP - 1,000KG back date project that would keep a GT3 honest in a straight line??

What else would be such a head turner and give you this much Pcar fun for a hundie??

Possible project for you Gary?? :

Macca - cut the crap, you know a 964 doesn't stand a chance against a 993.

Doug, the answer is 221's. You are long overdue coming to the 'dark side'.........

JMc - have you considered doing PORSCHE decals similar to a Singer? The black and white combo looked awesome on the R??

That does appeal. There's no hurry.

As for 993s vs 964, I asked the cat for her opinion and she said she'll get back to me after more important items are taken care of .....
